What happens when you don't pay
adequate
attention to you? When you don't
pay attention to you, you become like a
dull saw. And when you don't sharpen the
saw, as President Lincoln said many years ago, you
become ineffective and even the simple
tasks seem difficult.
If you
are creating a self-fulfilling prophecy with
your fear, your fear becomes your reality. Your
fear of pain, discomfort, or
embarrassment becomes the thing that
causes you to avoid doing WHATEVER it
takes to help yourself.
If you go for the short-term gain,
you could end up with long-term pain and
your frustration tolerance is very
likely to be lowered to the ground.
To make
a superior comeback during
these competitive times, you'd
better learn how to go for the short-term pain,
long-term gain model.
If you feel a passion for your path,
know why you're doing what you're doing,
understand where you're going, be clear
about what your plan is, have strategies
for staying mentally healthy, and have
an accountability partner who knows how
to help you stretch yourself without
snapping, you may have a considerable advantage.
How are you going to get there? If
you keep doing the same thing--you'll quite possibly keep getting the
same thing. So, you probably want to pull yourself
out of the vicious cycle! So, the first
step is to GET HONEST.
On top of that, the
second step is to CREATE A HUGE MENTAL
SHIFT
within yourself--a shift which potentially leads you to have a
magnetic,
personality that attracts more of you want by giving you
the STRENGTH to take the actions you
know you could take. (This is the
essence of the mental game of success.)
